If you are on a Windows 8 operation system CLICK HERE to read my article specifically for Windows 8 users.

1st. You need to go to the Control Panel ( to open the Control Panel click on the start menu and you will see on the right side the button for the Control Panel )

2nd. Assuming the you did not change the default layout, if you are uncertain look at the top right corner of the Control Panel and make sure that View By is set to Category. Now click on the big green link that says System and Security.

3th. Afterwards click Windows Firewall

4th: Click the button on the left side of the window "Advanced Settings".

5th: Click on the left side the button Outbound Rules.

--> --> 6th: Click on the right side the button New Rule and follow the instructions on the Wizard. ( If you think that you have sufficient knowledge to handle the rest yourself than you may stop, otherwise read the last couple steps ) -->
7th. Select program and click next.
8th. Select this program path and browse for the program that you want to restrict from connecting to the internet and click next
9th. Select Block the Connection and click next. On the next screen just click next again.
10th.On the last screen you may fill in whatever you like in the fields Name and Description. After you are done just click finish and you are ready.

  1. This fix works great if you're dealing with a simple .exe program.

However, I need the entirety of Microsoft Office 2013 to be blocked completely from connection to the internet.

Since I do not know which of the files controls the update function... this fix will not work.
Unless of course someone here know there file withitin the Office installation directory responsible for updating Office,

    ??
